Quadrantid Meteor Shower - January 03, 2014
Weather: high clouds -> clear
The image above is a 1.0 hour stack of continous video from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM on January 03. This was the peak of the shower as seen from this location. 24 Quadrantids are captured. The Quadrantids can be identified by their trails which point back to the shower radiant in Bootes. As the radiant is moving during this composite, the meteor trails show that movement.
In addition to the meteors, star and airplane trails can be seen. The lights on the horizon are from nearby houses and street lights.
